Anyway - Should I relocate my rear brake reservoir in the empty space.... or add a BMW approved Scott Oiler.

Ahhhh... it's a nice big space, but I wondered if anyone had already installed a Scott Oiler. The company has an excellent reputation and this modification seems quite popular. I have a friend with a Suzuki dual sport bike with the oiler and a friend with a touring bike... different systems, but they like the results.

So. BMW has a Scott Oiler just for the f800gs... should I do it?

• is the engine set for "stun" for the break-in? I was kind of surprised to not be able to break the tire loose on gravel.

For the F658GS the stock rear is 140/80-17
the usual tires for this bike seem to also be offered in a 150/70-17

If my math is correct the 150/70-17 tire would be about 7mm "shorter"

140 x 80% = 112mm
150 x 70% = 105mm

And naturally 10mm wider .... what are the pros & cons of switching?

Don’t get me wrong. I love my 2012 650-twin and I intend to drive it for at least a few more years and I’ve poured enough money particular to that bike to encourage me to get my money out of it. I consider myself fortunate that this is my first bike.

Having said that, I do give thought to my next bike. Perhaps the R1200R. Perhaps one of the bigger BMW touring bikes. ….but concerned those big touring bikes are a LOT to drag around town and subject to many hundreds of dollars of damage with even a parking lot drop.

If you’re a rider of a 650-twin…..what do you suspect will be your next bike? To my surprise one bold was missing! Aside from the 4 mounting points on the bottom there should be one horizontal bold, but not in my case. Also, my spacers are beginning to show groove marks. Notice the pics below.




Are the groove marks normal and should I replace the sprocket bearing if it's feeling a little notchy? I really appreciate the help.

I downloaded that application ($4.99) but then if you try to open the manual, appears the logo with RepRom.app, then the window opens where you would choose your model, language, etc but no data appears, only ? question marks, looks like the software doesn't know where to find the data.
