I've been planning and hoping for this ride for more than 2 years. Circumstances somehow clicked and it was on. I'll post some teasers here ( about 56 pics ) : ) The full write is at the blog below Early morning on the Malaysian freeways. the 1st day was going to be long Another R&R After crossing the Thai border i stopped at the border town of Dan Nok I was not alone :huh Nice Thai roads After 850+km i stopped for the day Early the next morning. great riding weather. No idea :huh religious i think After braving the Bangkok madness i had to get on the ferry as motorcycles are not allowed on the freeways I use the term ferry loosely After the river crossing i looked for a hotel . See the cars in their individual parkings. see the number plates being blocked.Lets just say my room had a verrrry large mirror Nice and cool in the next morning After a few hours i reached this- Welcome to the Kingdom of Cambodia The border town of Poipet. dusty .yet so cool. Big sky country Miles of straights... Reached my destination of Siem Reap Now the fun begins Terrace of the Leper king in the Angkor complex Bayon This is the picture i've been wanting to take for the last 2 years. My bike infront of the Angkor Wat. Nice digs How else to end the day the next morning i headed to Phnom Phen. Took the back roads (another way of saying i got lost ) Had a chat with the locals. The lady couldnt stop smiling. Streets of Phnom Phen I wanted to visit here. School kids exercise equipment became an instrument of torture no explanation needed This is actually how it was The same buliding as above with the original barbed wire still intact. Cells on the ground floor. on the 1st floor This is how it was. Phnom phen's main park looking on to the Tonle Sap river. In the background is the Mekong river. Had a beer and chat at fellow ADVrider Jacl-Kampuchea's bar Heading north the next day. Battambang city. So cool On the way to the beach town of Hua Hin Very nice. Cool wheels On to Ranong the next day Exiting the freeway it was 110km of bliss. Came from here going here From ranong you can look over to Myanmar Heading home Back in to Malaysia It has been a dream ride and i had to fight to get the time to go. Was it worth it ?? oh yesssss cheers
@Tmotten- yup,they tarred the roads about 4 years ago. Still in some places work was going on meaning miles of mud,gravel and stones. great for a DP . not too bad for the FJR. @GB - Thanks. Also thanks for correcting my double posting.

hey Quealy , Yup i went through Battambang . Didn't stop , just a fly by. Couple of my friends are getting itchy , so i may just pop in at your establishment again. Soon i hope
^ I would hazard a guess that his bikes headlamps are wired to always be on when the bike is on. In Cambodia it is illegal to run lamps in Daylight and gives the police a reason to attempt to stop you and extort a bribe of between $1 and $50. Mind you, they don't try too hard when a bike is bigger than 250cc as they would get knocked on their asses/ dislocate a shoulder trying to grab the rider. In general, if a policeman steps into the road waving for you to stop, the correct etiquette is to gear down and wind the throttle up and drive directly at them. They will get out of the way

I usually stop when motioned to if I have committed an infraction. But ,all too often, five or six traffic cops here will pick a section of road and just stop as many vehicles as possible for no reason than to line their own pockets. They don't carry guns or care is somebody blasts past as there are always more vehicles coming.
