    Mileage and year?

Mine did that when the airbox issue let dust through. But it could be many things.

(yeah I know all problems are airbox related, even the hot seat is caused by the faulty airbox :rofl)

A stupid question but is the kill switch in the on position?

I had problems with starting when the temperatures were under 5 degrees c.
Got advice from the dealer to open the throttle by 2-3 mm when starting.
Never got any problems after that.

Also have a 2011 Ducati Diavel with the same problems. There I had to replace spark plugs before I got it started...

There is a replacement set of starter cables for 1190s manufactured before 22 Nov 2013. This includes early 2014 1190s. Your dealer can verify whether the replacement applies to your VIN.

well today before i was going to deliver my bike to the dealer , tried one more time myself , i charged up the battery , and took the bike down a hill, and put it into 3rd gear and then it turned around and i heard it was comming back to live , :clapso my thoughts is that the starter takes to much amp and that stops the ignition , a bigger battery would probely solve the problem ,
