Just got back last weekend from 3 days of roosting Moab on my new KTM Adventure 1190R. What a blast:D I met my buddy Troy out there so we could make an exchange. That's right, and exchange! I sold him my two 1970 Honda 70's for him and his wife to enjoy out in Half Moon Bay, California. Needless to say, Troys drive to Moab was LOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG. We met up at the Holiday Inn Express around 230, unloaded, and went riding!

Day one was a quick trip out to Gemini Bridges. That is a nice easy first day ride to do a shake down cruise on. Here is Troy on a Bridge

After seeing it from up top, we went down in the canyon via Bull Canyon road. This was a nice change of pace; more sand, more rocks, and more fun!

Day two was Potash Road, Shafer switchbacks, and a little bit of White Rim trail. Here is Troy pondering life:huh

This area is awesome! Lots of varying terrain, both slow and fast, technical and easy. Here is a video from parts of the day.

One of the highlights was meeting another 1190R up on top. This was a 2013 being ridden by Fernado(on the left) and his wife Amal. They had left Spain 11.5 months ago on an around the world trip:clap They have totalled up 33,000 miles along the way. The only issue was a broken sidestand.

After enjoying the view from upstairs, we promptly decided we need to find a way down to the mighty Colorado, 2,000 ft below. Here is Troy "sniffing" for a way down.

Twenty minutes later, he finds the turn for Lathrop Canyon, and off we go!

After successfully tackling Slickrock, we went back grabbed a quick shower(which I needed as Slickrock and the "Big Guy" made me sweat) and put on the street gear for a run through Arches.

    Four beautiful bikes!

I returned recently from my first trip to Moab, although my riding was reduced to one day on the WRT, but I did get a couple great evenings with some pirates at the Moab Brewery.

What's the story on the CT70's? I miss my first bike. Do you restore these or something?:ear

btw, I also stayed at HIExp, nice place.

I bought the 70's a few years back as a pair. They have been together since day on and have 900 miles on them-all original! My family and I enjoyed them but decided to sell them to help raise money for a new church building. Told my buddy Troy and he sent me a check last October for them figuring we'd meet in Moab. Worked out perfectly. BTW....you even parked in the same place at the HIX:-)
