    Just verifying dealer's claim.

The std 1190 comes in about $1000 less than the R model, even though the standard one gets the electronic suspension and the R doesn't.

Dealer says the R is more expensive all over the world, not just here in Aus.

    True?

My understanding is that in Australia the std 1190 will come with manual clickers on the fork and shock. Electronic adjustment will be an extra-cost option on the standard, but not on the R.

The std at $1000 less than the R will be the manual model. The electric suspension model will be nearer the R price. (Might be wrong, and more than happy to be corrected on this one. :D)

The R comes standard with the crash bars and tyre pressure monitors, as well as the different suspension and wheels.

Not according to the bloke here because we were discussing the logic, or lack of it.
    Maybe he's made a mistake.

    Canberra Motorcycle Centre?

Keep us informed please, I want to ride both the new GS and 1190 and I'm often in Canberra, closest place to try both for me - from Orange NSW.

    Cheers John

    That's right.

    It means 85AUSD

    Checked again today.
In Australia, 2 versions available only
    Std with electronic suspension.
    R with normal suspension.
    R costs $1000 more.

^^ Thanks for checking. Interesting. Sounds like Aussies are getting a good deal on the standard.

Unfortunate thing is, I was assuming I could get a standard with manual clickers. Not sold on letting KTM decide it all for me. I wonder whether these will be available later on special order - and at a discount to the electric models.

Over here (UK) the difference between the R and the 'Standard' bike with EDS is about £180 .....................
