All right guys,a couple of us been talk'n over in lay'n down tracks. There seems to be alot of us Upstate New York dual sport riders, and we thought maybe it would be a good idea to plan a dual sport ride in the park.
It was brought up that maybe the weekend of the Americade[June 6th]those who were interested would meet up and do a day or two of ride'n.
So if anyones interested please speek up.
We'll need suggestions on routes, different times if Americade isn't doible, etc etc.
So speak up!!!Tell us what you think.

I'd sure like to get in on this if you're able to put a route together. keep in mind that most of the land is state owned/managed and doesn't allow any motorized vehicles. I may be able to help a little with the route. maybe we can meet up sometime.

I'm interested in this as well. I know some of the dual sport rides were sponsered by BMW and done through a local dealer where my son works. We didn't participate in the rides and most likely they were closed routes for Americade only. I will send him this link as well so he can chime in. I know some trails and roads south of the park, some are offroad truck club routes and some are state trails going over into Vermont. I do know offroad truck groups run in the adirondacks often so there are trails available to ride on.

Dual sport as in do-some-dirt-roads, or a bit more offroad than that?

    Well its up for interpitaion.
    Dirt roads,fire roads,some trails,i guess.Any input is welcome.
I'm not the big hero section guy,but thats just me.At this point were just try'n to put something together.
Most of the guys that have been answer'n this post are thumper riders, atleast thats what i see.
If we can get something together,as far a good route,i'm sure we can put it together with optional routes.
    Please give us sugestions!!!

If I'm around that weekend (unclear yet, will know in a month or so), I'd definitely be up for a ride Americade weekend. I live on the Troy/Brunswick border, so it's not exactly a huge hike for me.

    Thats right!!
So throw some route ideas in there.
I would image'n that the first week in june, eveywhere in the park will be muddy. If we wait till the bike parade, that will be the best time to go to the villige and dresser hunt'n.:rofl

some local dirt roads we could add to the ride in the immediate lake george area are:
in luzerne on rt 9n viele pond rd will take us to a dirt road that goes from luzerne to warrensburg...easy simple hard pan dirt road. then we could take one from warrensburg to bolton (schroon river rd)..the dirt one.. once in bolton we could take the Padanarum road to the base of Tounge mnt. then go over Tounge mnt..(great twisty) that would get us to Hague-Ticonderoga area.. all these are car roads so any bike can make it..ok i started..someone elses turn..:ricky
