There was good support for the inaugural event. A few of us are out with injuries. Others are too cheap to pay for an adventure ride...:lol3. There's been a few rides on recently - the RRRR, Colin & Phil's ride down in the Naki, & the KCAR.

    Pity that really.

I hope that attitude doesn't eventually bring the commercial operators; who do a very good job from my experience, to closing down their ops.

I inquired about doing a yamaha Safari a few years ago. It was about $1100 bucks if I recall correctly. I chose not to go.

Probably valid for a business to charge those sort of prices but way too expensive for most of the folks I ride with. I'd consider it if the price included the use of a bike...say a WR450 for eg, travel costs, food, accomodation, back rub after each days riding, GPS, maps, video footage, medical insurance, ear plugs, reserve bike, fuel, hot choclate, foot massage, ear de waxing and boot cleaning. I'd be quite prepared to bring my own socks though :1drink

I refuse to do a ride that costs more than my bike.

So the commercial operator who is doing the MMMM route on queens birthday weekend will no doubt be paying Clint a royalty for supplying the route?
I have an issue with (some) commercial operators who by way of attending and recording non fee paying rides are stealing rides such as this for there own monetary gain. You could argue that its all legal roads and they can do what they like. True enough. So why then do they charge others to then follow them around these same roads?

I actually think this particular ride is reasonably priced, and good value for money. Some other rides are stupidly priced. Obviously for the elite, or to keep numbers down.
