Happy 2013 Everyone. We have been working on a few new Products for 2013. They will be ready to ship on February 15th.

 New for 2013 The Monarch Pass Saddle Bags
We came out with a simple user friendly Wolfman or other rack compatible set of top loading saddlebags. The Monarch Pass Saddle Bags have a zippered top opening, 4 point rack attachment and Hook and Loop seat straps that are passenger compatible. Also features internal HDPE stiffeners and D-rings on top for attaching additional gear. Use our EX-T Stuff Sacks to keep your gear organized.

Ditto. I was looking at the Teton bags, but didn't see an option for rain covers for them either. I'm guessing these are about as waterproof as the Tetons?

Hi guys,

You are correct, they are NOT 100% waterproof and contents will need to be in waterproof stuff sacks or bags of some sort. Thanks for the questions and interest

If that's the case, are waterproof covers available for these (and the Tetons - they appear to be about the same size)?

We will be making a waterproof liner for these instead of a cover. The reason is if you decide to attach anything else to the bag a cover would have to be able to go over that, which then makes the cover not function as well in either case. We are not sure exactly when they will be ready...stay tuned.

i will put my stuff in waterproof sacks. I don't like covers. I am always worried they fly off

I see you have the The Monarch Pass Saddle Bags mounted on a Honda CRF 250 L. Do you plan on offering the side racks for the 250? I don't see them listed on your web site.

Yes we do!!!! They are being finished as we speak and will hopefully be ready mid March

Hi there,
Is there any additional hardware required to mount these on Happy Trails SU racks? Also, I hate to be vain, but are there any colours other than black available? My bike is black, my gear is black, and my top box is also black so I was thinking yellow would be a nice step away from the. theme.

Been looking at these (and the Expedition Saddle Bags) a little more closely, and got to wondering - Is the seat strap really neccessary? Is it a weight-distribution thing (especially considering that the Wolfman Pelican box / hard pannier mounting kit seems to simply holds to the rack)? Will they hold securely to the rack without the seat strap in place?

the Seat Straps are absolutely necessary as they carry about 70% of the weight. The side straps that attach the bags to the side racks carry about 30% and are used to stabilize the load and compess so the bags are as one unit.

Wolfman your web site shows these are 9 liters, instead of 19.
I like the looks of these bags but you probably cant make a zipper top totally waterproof, a cover might keep the rain out but a dump in river or mud hole won't. Keep your stuff on light weight dry bags or clear ziplocks and dont worry about the covers.

These look really great. Im considering the rocky mountain setup, but i just don't need something so big and the option of adding a rolie to increase capacity seems great. I'd love to see a waterproof liner as mentioned above and seen in the rocky Mountain bags.. Any eta on the liners?
