I just did a search of 'in your shed' and found that 500 threads have that expression. Must be something in it? Donks reckons 'shed time is quality time'. I suppose that's at least partially dependent on how well, or otherwise, you turn your spanners. I do recall a thread 'show us your shed'. And then in 'Pivotal bikes of our decades', Oscar has a photo of what I regard as a very desireable collection in his shed. But what about what we've done in our shed / garage / workshop / man cave? Me? I've spent most of this year working on various bikes, and rather than riding. But that's along story. More recently, it's been fixing those little things on the Tiger, in preparation for a 2 week tour that starts at the end of the month. Tracing wiring faults in my auxillary power in the sidecar; Fixing wiring faults in the tail / brake light; Cleaning out the fuel tank breather so that petrol will actually run into the carbs; Blanking of some turn signal wires that are now redundant, that have come loose & are hanging out at the front of the bike; Sealing up the inlet plumbing of my once more modified air box (I think I'm up to V1.3 - Leigh has V2 under construction & he's even talking about having a 3D printer make V3!!!); I've also pulled apart one of the work CB250s to replace some bent & broken bits. And, finally, got around to buying some more parts trays & a tool trolley. I'm sick of having to walk around, over, trip on etc tools that I have had to leave on the floor. And why is it that the tool one needs is almost always on the other side of the bike? Unless, of course, one is laying on the ground, at which time the tool will be behind your head? Finally, it's not really in the shed but, looking through paper & electronic maps, working out options for the this ride. How 'bout ewes?
This week. Oil and filter on DR650, good bath and put away for a while Got the 36 Ford running again Sorted out rego for boat and trailer Fixed kill switch on the 350 Berg. Tidied up wiring, serviced it. Taken a couple of the surfboards for a paddle Cleaned up the shed Drunk a couple beers whilst doing all that. Need to Fit new tyres to DR Get 58 Pan Running again - shouldnt be hard. Sell 88 FXST - why did I buy a softail? Go bring the 64 Pan home once there is room Clean airfilter and fit Safari Tank to Tiger plus other farkles when they arrive Will be getting back to just a couple bikes VERY shortly. Fabbed a grain mill hopper and stand (nearly finished) Cut to size and finished some blackbutt slabs for a BBQ bench DIYed a tail tidy Set my race sag Serviced bikes and cars Fitted a laptop tuneable distributor to the old Triumph Varnished the core of a tree eaten out by termites Worked out most mornings But the most unusual thing I did in my shed this year is cleaned the bench - amazing what you find under all that crap!!!!
REEKSYOFOZ: Passing on a tip from a Lebanese mate on how to get a seal from smoke that usually comes from where the steel plate abuts the brickwork. ( It works great on his Arak still) Mix together equal parts of kitchen flour and sieved wood ash and add sufficient water to make a thick paste. Using something like a small tool, pack the paste into the gaps. This paste doesn't seem to crack with heat movement. The paste mix is best to be on the dry side, say thicker than toothpaste.
Fork seals for the TDM, just need to reassemble it. Made some sculptures out of recycled horshoes. Contemplated what a farkin mess the whole place is
I've been working on setting up my DR for some touring- electrical, seat, luggage racks etc. But most recently cleaned up shed and made some room for the old Harley Shovel that I pick up this week. Has sat for around 10 years unregistered. It was imported about 20 years ago and the Vic Police have compliance it as a '54 model so I am sweet to strip it down and still have it pass RWC. So I have plenty more tinkering ahead of me with this machine. Cheers Pullsy
Tring to finish this off in the next month as well as prep the 510 and the 610 for a Holland track trip in a few weeks, got this thing in the shed that I have to do some electrical tidying up on on top of that got the Perth Beer fest here tomorrow and the shed looks like this better get in there and clean it up.

After many years of procrastination I have finally got rid of all the crap in the shed and started on the cave..... er parents escape...:eek1 Eventually it will have a workshop corner for my Tenere, office for the missus, a couple of couches and a tele on the wall (strictly for Playstation use only (no reality TV allowed!)) The CEO does not like the V8 coffee table I have planned (ala Top Gear style ) but when she sees it I think she will come around. I already have a 302 Windsor ready for polishing. p.s. it's bloody hard to keep motivated working on the shed while I can hear all the motorcycles riding through Meadows all morning..

I didn't even let the drill run across the paint when I put a hole inside the sidecar for a switch! Impressed with myself. Now to add a couple of tie down points & load the sucker! Ready for heading off in a few days time. First stop Euston, enroute to the sidecar rally near Bathurst & Dargo!
Haha, I hope you're talking about the Blackgates sidecar rally on the 28th/29th. Need to find out where these events get put up since I had no idea stuff was happening so close to where I live.
