Just thought i'd start up a thread where we can post ideas of future rides or places we talk about going ,but never get around to it. Maybe someone might want call a saturday lemonade session at the Daly???, to discuss important issues like " The short comings of european motorcycles" Anyway ,to kick it off. Here's a few rides I;d like to get around to doing. Blencoe falls ,Again. Lake Dunn. Outback jack has a hut there and he would bring up fuel. Save heading into Aramac. Lake Eungulla. All these would be overnighters. Need some new ideas for day runs.
If your coming to the lake ole mate i will be tagging along, i'll drive the truck up with bike, fuel and beer and meet up at cape river and ride back with you lot . Some of the boy's from T'ville stayed there last week on a round trip.
Barra, All sound good, keen to do the Blencoe trip. Will get the maps out to work out a new day trip!
Sounds good fellas. Give me a few weeks to get the bike back, and run it to work and back to test it. I'll get it in writing from Kawasaki that it's ready to do outback trips so they can fix it for free if it breaks down again I'd like to actually complete the Dotswood-Mingela track too! HA HA HA And I'm all for the drinkies at the Daly for discussions
I'm keen, just give me a little bit of notice and i'll head down from Cairns. Only thing is I may need some where to camp overnight beofre heading back home.
Not a problem. I think the lake dunn trip could on in early october. I think everyone should be free by then. And it'll give your leg a chance to heal up a bit more. So if that time suits, let mark down 15 -16 oct. Might give mr tagati time to get a larger tank for the husky. Plenty of beer fridge space at my place galbo. In the mean time , anyone up for blencoe falls in a few weeks time. We could make it a saturday day run if time is a problem. Dan, hopfully your klr should be ready to rumble soon.
Okay, sounds like a plan, let me know numbers for fuel, and booze. Also i'll bring some steak, eggs, bacon and bangers for a BBQ tea and breakfast, i have about 8 beds at the hut but can organize more if needed.
Sounds good, all I need is BMW to get their act together and have the parts turn up before the 20th of Oct. which is the date they quoted me I wish they would not send them out by a German backpacker.
15 - 16 October cpould work for me. I get back from a 10 day Cape trip for work on the 14th so i'll see how it goes.
10 days work, then straight on the bike to lake dunn. Better start eat'in ya weetbix . Be good if ya make the trip. With outback jack voluntering as supply sargent, should make for a good sat night.
The weekend of the 15th/16th is my last in Townsville before I head off to Kuala Lumpur and Cambodia for 3 weeks. The missus has tentatively agreed to a bike trip over there!!!
Proberbly go'in for a day run sat 25th. Bowen river pub for lunch, then back home through the dam. I'm easy if anyone wants do an alternate run.
Sounds great but I'm taking (driving) the daughter to Brisbane that week and will be leaving on the 24th....Bugga..Next time....
Barra Sounds good and may be a starter, will get back to you Trev, that sounds like a Dare Iced Coffee moment
The car blokes usually have 3 or 4 of the best holdens or fords for the wedding cars. What are you having trev, KTM's or Kwaka's???
An old Ford Galaxy to drop Lana of and to take us away from the reception... It's her wedding so she gets what she wants... And we all know that if I rode there I would end up in Birdsville with the Kato pissing out oil from places that shouldn't have oil in them, three shagged tyres, seven stuffed chains and all eight sprockets missing teeth...
I'm keen to tag along mate, as long you don't mind a noob who is still figureing things out and the weather is ok. What sort of kays will you be covering?
