Ok, looking to buy this bike....Confused to what exactly it is? They say it is a 1974 bmw r90/6? Kinda looks like a R90/S? Thoughts?

S fairing, r90 engine (purely from the badges...but the jugs are painted like the S) and a /7 police tank. The tank also indicates the seat is a /7 rs/rt with a corbin saddle.

Looks like a /6 with a /7 police tank and S fairing and Corbin seat on an S cowl. If you can get the VIN, there are a number of places to look/decode it for you.

Looks ok in the photo, but the proof is in the pudding. :deal

You can slap an s-fairing on just about any airhead. This is my 1977 R100RS.

Per the badges and other indicators, it is a 74 R90/6. Depending on mechanical condition, it's probably worth somewhere between $2500 and $3500. It also depends on the location, since prices vary from place to place.

It appears to be in decent condition and the seat, tank, and fairing are worth quite a bit all by themselves.

    What's the asking price?

Looks like a cop front fender too...and that faring looks aftermarket...It could be a frankenbike ...I'd be leary unless the mechanics are good.

    If the mechanics are sketchy....<1000$

Cop front fender or /6 front fender. Definitely not an S front fender.

The small front axle and non-drilled brake rotor peg it as a '74, and the Bing carbs are /6.

It's a Frankenbike for sure, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If it's in good running shape and there is some decent maintenance documentation, then I'd give $1,200-$1,700. I'd have to hear it run though.

If it runs okay that's a pretty sweet deal for $1600.

The cop gas tank is worth a bundle to the right obsessive compulsive.

Yeah, if it runs, I'd give $1600 in a heartbeat... sellable/tradeable parts on that bike!

Not a "cop" front fender, a standard /6
A great deal for a running /6, careful of the gear box if it's a 74

The only thing that says '74 to me is the non-drilled front rotor.

The signals look like the black plastic ones. Why would someone down-grade (in my opinion) from the '74 aluminum ones?

I think it looks pretty cool, and for $1600, I'd buy it if I didn't already have 4 BMW's. Well, maybe I'd still buy it... :lol3

Since the paint's definitely not original, I'd be tempted to give it an "S" paint job with the money saved on the asking price (assuming it needs nothing else).

Looks like a '74 front end. A Fiamm horn right where it will muff the front fender. S fairing. Mac exhaust. Koni shocks. Russel ride off stand. Later model cop tank. Corbin seat. NGK spark plug caps. It look like some weird wiring going on around the headlight area. Someone at least painted the heads and probably the cylinders as well.

    Good luck!

Looks like it has S bars with barend mirrors.

But what's the engine breather situation????

govdeals.com? A riot shield with stenciled SHERIFF in the background? I'd be checking that tank verrrry carefully for contraband, ala Easy Rider.
