I have owned two KTMs, a 400EXC and a 450EXC. Also owned a BMW R1200GS Adventure about 4 years ago. Looking to buy a 990R. Do all KTM dealers have access to this bike or am I going to have to locate a dealer that meets KTM guidelines to sell this one? I am located in SE Tennessee. Thanks for any info!
Check out the KTM USA site to find area dealers. They have dealer sites on there with info. You'll have to go to each site, check inventory to see what they can do. Or maybe put this request in the regional forums. Local guys could help alot.
What cjracer said... If I understood my local dealer correctly, he told me even though dealerships sell KTM product, not all are capable/qualified of "Servicing" an Adventure. He was staffed with a mechanic who was qualified to service the big bikes, he searched around and found me my new 990R a few months ago. He led me to believe the 990R was getting hard to find, so if you find one you may want to jump on it fast. A used 2010 locally sold within hours of being on the market. I'm enjoying the R a whole bunch. WJR

If you are a member over at KTMtalk, use their get a quote feature and let the dealers come to you. http://173.74.246.25/ktmtalk/getaquote/getaquote.cfm
Also make sure they are an authorized lc8 repair shop too. Some of the dealers sell the big bikes but cant work on the motor stuff.
