18 Days. 18 National Parks.

Couldn't help but notice that it seems nobody has actually been adventuring lately. Maybe they have but not posting about it.

When I go, I go big. Just over 5,000 miles in 17 days this time. There was no prescribed route. Just heading out to some favorite spots and exploring some areas that I've never seen.

The trip went something like this:

Inland Empire to Baker, forgotten passport, back to Inland Empire and eventually,

Grand Canyon NP
Capitol Reef NP
Natural Bridges SP
Valley of the Gods
Monument Valley
Mesa Verde NP
Canyonlands NP
Arches NP
Glacier NP (US)
Difficult Border Crossing
Waterton NP
Banff NP
Jasper NP
Yoho NP
Mt. Revelstoke NP
Glacier NP (CA)
North Cascades NP
Olympic NP
Mt Rainier NP
Crater Lake NP
Lassen Volcanic NP
Lake Tahoe
Bodie SP
Death Valley NP
Inland Empire
and other highlights that I will remember later

Whew! :eek1

Sore ass. A little hiking, hot springing, kayaking, swimming, drinking, cooking, camping and a few deluxe accommodations along the way.

It didn't start out to be a mission to see at least one national park per day but after a while decided why the hell not?

There are a few nice photos I'll try to post later.

Wally, today I was having lunch with some friends and in a discussion about the Penny Bar in McKittrick your name came up. Damn near a legend in these parts. :freaky To paraphrase Hunter s. Thompson, good to hear that you are still "stomping on the terra".

I got five weeks on the road this summer. I saw a few but did not see 17 National Parks. Good trip.:clap
