The Ultimate Adventure Accesory

After crossing the Sahara these two guys turn their bikes (KTM 640
Adventure and Yamaha TT600) to paddlewheel powered rafts made
of empty oil barrels. Then sail towards Timbuktu (930 miles away) on
the Niger River until the KTM's top end fails weeks later.

You can read more about their story on the latest issue of UK Bike Magazine (November 05). I had never dreamed of this kind of bike adventure before reading this…

I'm thinking that "accessory" might provide a lot of customers for "Insight Cylinder Head Service." :evil

Maybe you ought to write up a "How To" tech article for folks to construct their very own Paddlewheel raft for their 640 Adv's. Whadya think, Creeper?

:D

There's a common phrase used in JM Anthony that I believe applies... "Are you high?"

Unfortunately the Bike article doesn’t give exact numbers. Anyhow it
says that on the first night they did 33 miles. The whole journey from
Koulikoro to Mopti took ten weeks. So the average speed was only
about 4 miles per day. It seems that they were stuck on sandbanks
or making repairs more than once on the way.

That may be even one up on Esteban who rigged a square sail as the only power on his bike.
