Bluegrass Backroads...Another installment added.

Having driven this road in a cage; when doing a project years back, I never noticed the steepness of the drop...or how creek flowed through the bottom.

I really like this waterfall, sometimes in the summer when we were building a house nearby I would go cool off after work before I drove home, I look forward to summer rides on the TE and stopping in for a cooldown...

Curvy roads await...

I love this color...

Rolling Hills of the Bluegrass. I used my glove to shield the lens...that reminds me I gotta put my Visor back on my XD, ouch...

I feel this bike would be at home anywhere from the Southern Estate to the Urban Condo...or maybe I am just infatuated.

The Horses really liked my bike...curious devils.

They were so nice to talk to...I could have spent an hour there with them.

Using a digital camera for the first time had me being creative in attempting to avoid washout...and I was having difficulty not being able to use a viewfinder (F5 user) but pics came out ok...

The road becons me home...Game 1 and all...

Fences ane Barns...

Fences, Barns, and a good road to in the Bluegrass.

Oh, and my bike lets not forget my baby...

Great pics!!! What part of the state were this taken in? I'd guess between Frankfort and Lexington. How far am I off?

buffallodan 05-23-2006 08:28 PM

The road is off US60 between Frankfort and Versailles, that leads down to Port of Clifton. Once at the Falls at Clifton the road takes you back towards Frankfort through Milleville. Thanks for compliment...

I was just through that area a few weeks ago but was really rollin'. It would be nice to go back through with a little more time on my hands.

Nice pictures, nice bike and nice area! If you need an escort down around Lake Cumberland sometime, let me know. I'll tag along on the GS.

Another installment...

A stone laid road in the creek bed, Wow never seen that before...

This road was an unexpected find, a County Road that isn't maintained...just the way I like them. I am still in disbelief there are gems like this to find...

This is actually the third crossing, I didn't take any pics at the first. I kept thinking of my brother and his Harley not ever getting a chance to see this place, unless of course I loan him my bike and cross my fingers he can make it through :rofl
Notice the slight descent on the other sides approach to the creek :evil

The view up stream... really beautiful area.

The final crossing, this one got pretty deep, I did give it more throttle :lol3

This is taken on the ridge above the valley(creek) I just traversed, it was so quiet and peaceful up here and the sun was starting to descend, I was so damn happy to be riding.

The cows didn't mind me taking pics one bit, I stood on the gate to get this one so I could shoot deeper into the valley...

This sign is at the end of a gravel road that leads to a Wildlife Management Area. A short detour on my return trip that paid dividends as the road was fun and will see me again...

This is a further view taken just before I descend back to the main road...

Same vantage point but looking I will chase the sun...

More great pics! What kind of camera are you using for these?

buffallodan 06-05-2006 05:17 AM

Its a Casio QVR62. I am a Nikon user but I have a film camera and I am borrowing this camera b/c its digital. Digital is so convenient for these kinds of pics but I wish I could take my camera with some slide film...thanks again for comments.
