Were you serious though? That's just a 640 enduro right?

tirebiter 11-14-2006 07:44 PM

Gotta love getting a bike 'naked' :evil

I *so* wish I'd snapped picture last winter to reply to this thread.

I tore a Superhawk 996 track bike down to the bare frame in a 10'x10' prefab shed while my garage was being renovated. It was 20 degrees outside and I was heating the shed with a kerosene heater placed strategically away from the plastic body parts (I kept the fuel tank out in the snow thank you very much :rofl ) There were parts EVERYWHERE in there. I had a little path cleared to walk around the frame on the stand and that was it.

On the upside, I got it back together. The garage is now finished. And I rode the Superhawk crosscountry this summer without a hitch :deal

What project spurred this KTM rape?

dorkpunch 11-14-2006 08:32 PM

as to why... i got a good deal on the bike and it had been pretty beat up, so i took the little bit of extra $$$ and am getting new plastics (orange, even though everyone says they like the red better), trail tech, and some other odds and ends. and, as you can tell, some deep cleaning is direly needed.

turbonotch 11-14-2006 09:02 PM

my klx300r is on the same program for this winter :evil

good deal on the bike yields: new plastics, new dualsport wiring, grease everything that moves, and set her loose on the terrain come spring! :clap

dorkpunch 11-15-2006 08:22 AM

thats my plan right up to the set er loose come spring. we'll get some snow riding in, and I REALLY have to try out my ski attachment on this thing.
