Clean the oil jet for clutch lubrication.
 
How's everybody? I see in the 2006 950 Adventure Owner's Manual,... under Periodic Maintenance Scheadule, beside engine checks "Clean the oil jet for clutch lubrication." Does anyone have a Factory Maintenance Manual pictures of this process? I have seen the recall thread on oil jets, but as I understand reading that recall,... those jets are specific to the engine itself (ie: rotating assembly lubrication). Any help here would be much appreciated.:D

That will be the oil jet above the clutch slave- chain guard. A tiny little jet. mine was blocked. After unscrewing use a vacuum to remove it.

The oil return jet.
 
You should be refering to part No 600.38.029.000. In order to pull it out though you could use a screwstarter for flat screws, or the vac cleaner as mentioned above!! I wonder if increasing the hole to a 0,5mm would be a good idea? More oil and less prone to blocking.

So, if I am understanding this correctly; you are saying,... an Oil Jet in KTM language is refering to the bleeder screw on top of the clutch slave cylinder??? If so,... mine has a small grey protective "rubber booty" on it and it is clean inside.:clap For some reason I was thinking that this"oil jet was internal, as it follows the clutch lining inspection and clutch pressure booster system checks:huh on the '06 model PMS?

According to the '06 Owners manual, under PMS on page 20, 1st service after 1,000km and every 15,000km or every two years.

The oil jet IS internal and you have to take off the slave cylinder to get to it (as well as removing the chain/case guard).
The part number given above is correct and it is shown on the “engine case” page in the engine parts manual as #29.

Here's a photo of the clutch oil jet location from a TB (Fig. 2). This is different from the engine oil jets refered to in an '05 TB, if that isn't apparent to anyone.

Dam I am calling my dealer in the morning they did not do that at the first service or the second when I had it in for the valve check. I sat and watched both times.........sonsabitches~~~ I do see that it is in the owners manual on pg 29 for the 07 950SE. I overlooked that damit!!!! After looking at the maintenance schedule they only performed 4 out of 16 things that it says to check at the first maintenance. I'll do my homework next time and take a list with me!!!

I did my own 600 mile service on my bike. Checked the oil jet and it was blocked with a little piece of gasket sealant. I guess that there is a good reason for them to have you check it.

I thought about starting a poll but don't really want that high a profile on this subject. I wonder how many 950 owners really trust their dealer? Do they trust their dealer's mechanics? Do they have faith that that critical part they can't see once the machine is buttoned up ... was checked or fixed or replaced? Do you believe that the mechanic working on your bike actually knows how to measure a valve shim and raise or lower your buckets a few thousandths of an inch? :amazon
