Nice Pics!

I am from the valley and until recently more or less oblivious of an entire country to the south, but I'm looking forward to taking some rides into Mexico sometime soon.

How long did the entire trip take you? How did the 650's hold up?

Shhhhhh .... don't tell anyone and we can keep it to ourselves.

Of course, the drive across Texas will stop most folks.

Beautiful photos!!

Beautiful! That looks like a great ride and you had the roads all to yourself! :thumb

Please go back and add some text here to go with the photos.

The area is beautiful, based upon a quick perusal of your photos.

The entire trip: left at 5:10 am Saturday and was back in Harlingen Sunday at 5 PM, so roughly 36 hours. Rode about 14 hours Saturday and 6 Sunday.

650 GS did very well. 85-90 MPH on MX 40. Turns on mountain roads were no problem, plenty of uphill power even fully loaded. Off road capability is competent but limited, so if I had to do it all over again, I would pick the Dakar model. I can't imagine bringing a heavier bike given the terrain and never mind having to pick a 1200 up from the inevitable fall.

Wow dude! Just took a look through all the pics. My wife is even stoked about going! It'd be a 4-5 day trip for us from Louisiana... But I think it would be worth it. I PM'd you for a couple of details....:thumb :thumb

Damn that looked like some great memories to me! I really need to meet more people that like to do rides like this one. I've done most my long multi day adv rides solo, but it would be nice to meet others with the same sickness.:loco
