Hi Chris,

Any update on when you will have the crash bars to go with the bash plate? Or the combo for those who still need both?

Does it cost extra to have "Git" engraved on it? How cheeky.:lol3

Could you consider to produce rally spec bashplates with watertanks for KTM 450/525/530? The mecasystem ones are kind of pricey....

We could make something for these bikes, but due to the limited volumes we'd sell the price would probably end up something not far off the Mecasystems items. I Imagine $300+ .
We only have limited time to develo stuff so unless we had 10 or so people really wanting these, they'd have to go down the list.

The mecasystem item is 600€ so for about 300$ i could by 10 myself and sell.

Hmmm.... looks like the 800GS shares the same 'design flaw' of the Girlie Tigers...using the engine as a stressed member...which means...nowhere good to mount a bashplate. I would LOVE to see you develop one to fit my 02 Tiger. :nod

any word on the availability of the crash bars. I am going to have to order something soon. These look the best, but if they aren't available they don't do much good.

if you could update with a time frame that would be awesome as it would help with purchasing decisions.

I have already scratched up the panels on the sides because i couldn't wait any longer to go ride out on the trails.

I sent chris a pm and he said no, they won't work with ANY of the crash bars currently available, which is why they are making their own.

Hope they are available soon, cuz my bike is gonna be ready for me to pick it up THIS WEEK !!!!

The website is up fine again now. If you check the main page of the website it says that the site will be down over the weekend for shop modifications.

As for the crashbar times, we (Adventure-Spec, I work for the company) have really struggled to get the quality of workmanship we wanted from the bars. Being proud of what we do, and what we sell, we haven't been prepared to compromise the quality of the final product no matter WHAT happens.

We have always said that we will either produce a product that is the BEST it can possibly be, or we wont release a product at all.

One of our main problems was finding a pipe bending specialist who could ensure that the seam of the pipe stayed on the inside of the product regardless of the complex bending profiles used (who wants to look at pipe seams wandering around everywhere!) whilst still keeping the perfect tolerances we wanted to ensure a first time fit.

We have now solved that problem and have tested multiple sets of bent bars for continuity and quality issues. If we do say so ourselves, its a really nice job! We are now getting close to a release and are sourcing mounting component kits and making up sets of spacers etc....

BUT, this is our first set of engine crash bars and we have tripped over ourselves time and time again promising target dates that we havnt managed to hit. I'm afraid we cant give you a date yet except to say that the major technological hurdles are over and believe me we are working 24/7 to get them out as soon as possible before we end up getting mobbed!

Thank you for your patience, support, and kind words about our kit. We could have released 'some' bars ages ago, but we wouldnt have put them on our bikes. When we set up the company our ethos was always that we wouldnt sell anything to anyone else that we wouldnt use ourselves. Thats why there has been such a delay...

Maybe we need to lower our standards...:wink:

Any way to get a preorder list going :) You kind of force our hand by making a realy nice bash plate and not having it work with anything else. I am definitely not complaining! I love the bash plate, i just don't want to be caught in the back of the line cause I am sure you have a bunch of UK riders waiting to get their hands on it too :):evil
