Any FE570 or FE450 owners out there?

I'd bet there's at least one other Abusaberg owner here.

Wondering how well you fit on these bikes? Got one on my wish list and like you, I am tall. Show us some pics and give us your impressions.

Will do once I get it back together. It's currently in pieces in the garage as I install lighting harnesses to make it road legal. I already have the plate. :super

The dealer I purchased from is nearly as tall as I. He has a FE570 also. So far we have both gone with tall factory seat and bar risers. I am additionally going with Pivot Pegz to drop peg height a bit plus allow rotation.

Then there's the usual suspension tweaks required. New springs and valving. I'm leaning towards LT-Racing for the work as they're somewhat local.

For the limited amount of time I've spent bimbling about the neighborhood so far, it's very light and very fast. Once moving it seems much more like a 250 or 125 2-stroke than a nearly 600cc thumper. That mass centralization works in real life.

Do these come factory street legal w/ lights.. or just with a clear MSO?

LukasM 04-27-2009 07:10 AM

Now that there is one pretty bike! Gotta save some dough and get me one next year as well.

First time I see one of the new Íhlins steering dampers. Let us know how you like it and the X2 headlight you put on there. Halogen or HID?

Now go have a blast on her!

just the latter.

There are some harnesses and switchery you need - all available from the large KTM parts bin. With the exception of the lights themselves, all are stock and unmodified components.

it's HID - works great!

I just put the damper on. The install was quite easy. Haven't had a chance to ride it since but the forks don't flop nearly as quickly.

Absolutley gorgeous bike, I had a 96 berg, great then, and even better now by the looks of it. Not to be picky, but is that a leak unde rthe front sprocket? (Got the same problem on my 525 exc rigfht now..)

Runs like she looks?

I saw that also. I believe it may be. I'd better hurry up and get it covered under "warranty".

She's got about 6 hours on the motor now. I'm running it at about 75% (where I can). I still have WFO and the 2nd injection map to check out.

I'm leery of doing full power runs on the street. Those knobs disappear quick enough as it is. :augie

Looks great.

I'm betting the stuff under your countershaft sprocket, is nylon wearing off from chain rubbing on new chain runners, It's a new bike! Beautiful by the way!!!!!

maybe.

the bike came with 13/52 gearing. I immediately switched to 14/52. that was an improvement, but on the street I used 3 gears to cross an intersection. I bought a 15/48 setup. When I changed it, I noticed this also though the oil level didn't really change.

I'll check with the dealer tomorrow and see what he says. I see on the 'berg list (www.husaberg.org) that there have been some warrantied seals.

thanks!

it's a seal. got one on order. picked up my radiator crash guards and got my right radiator warranty claim approved (the hose with the thermostat was located too close to the fins and the thermostat housing crushed a bunch of them).

I'm pleased... :super

Waiting

I'm waiting for some 650 berg owners to jump in on this thread. As soon as I sell my TE610, and find a 650 berg, I'm signing in. I can't wait.
