I searched as best I could but couldn't find a thread on this. Supposed to be coming to the US in 2010. Discuss....

I like it, not allot of fairing, looks lean. Hell why not, seems like a good move for GASGAS.

BikePilot 09-01-2009 08:38 PM

I've never quite understood the point of dakar-like fairings (well, for use other than long distance ralleys) on dirt bikes, but it looks mighty cool! I'm afraid I'd have all that pretty stuff broken off in short order though:lol3

Nearly four and a half gallons of fuel is pretty sweet for a stock bike. I imagine the fairing and low fender would make it better on the road than most dirt bikes - why you'd wanna ride a dirt bike on the road though... Perhaps it'd be a great mostly-off-road touring bike, like something to ride from San Diego to Cabo and back:)

I do hope that weight figure is wet weight, ready to ride with full fuel, otherwise it may be a bit on the porky side.

Looks really sweet!.....Now if it were something a bit more, well Yamahaish.....

Zecatfish 09-01-2009 08:58 PM

fugly!
That fairing from the side looks like it has a hard on. :puke1
Same too, cause I really like the GasGas in he past I've had a chance to ride. :cry

dsm_rally 09-01-2009 09:00 PM

The smaller ones have Yamaha engines. :D

Durden 09-01-2009 09:19 PM

Looks good, but everything looks designed to be a light single tracker like the KTM 450 (huge clearance, narrow seat, knobbies etc..), if that is the case why have a huge front faring?

I like how it looks, but dont see it as a trail or touring ride...? Personally I prefer the Yammy, but I havent seen either in person.

:tb

Santa 09-01-2009 09:23 PM

4 1/2 gallons where? maybe 3 or 2.5
The little wings on the tank appear to be just wings.
I see something that looks like an inlet tract going to an airbox under the seat.
Gotta have a battery, likely under the seat.
Not much fuel there with the other stuff in the way.
It just looks like a mx bike with a rally fairing and low fender.
Must be for those small euro deserts?

Mtncrzr 09-01-2009 09:30 PM

The fairing is so that you can put the rollbook, gps, radio, etc... up front.

Duh...

cross-country 09-01-2009 09:51 PM

I love it, can't wait to see one in person! It looks like the fairing may be made out of a more flexible plastic material, like a shroud rather than a fragile hard plastic like on the 640's fairing? very cool :eek1

Wait, that's weird, do you have to remove the front fender to pull the axle?

Mleaky 09-01-2009 09:56 PM

I like it. No e-start, but 6 speeds!

Mo-Tarded 09-01-2009 09:57 PM

Does the fairing roll back in angle ? Dang... I'd hate to be going into a 50 mph headwind. ...and with the guys I ride with throwing baseball size rocks at me it better be cheap because it isn't going to last a W/E.

It says "Electronic injection (Battery less EFI)" , just like some kawi and suzuki in last few years.
Did you notice kickstart lever?

ALMONDOG 09-02-2009 06:45 AM

i think the fairing is far away like that because when you ride off road and stand up, the windshield wont slam into your face on hard hits.
