F800 problems?

Is it me or does the F800 just seem to have a lot of problems/issues?

Maybe it's new model-itis, maybe F800 onwers are overly abusive, or just maybe BMW didn't design enough safelty factor into the bike but it seems that 80% of the threads around here are about F800 problems.

Just curious..........

Ugh.

How about a search prior to posting up a new thread? This has been addressed / discussed ad nauseam.

For every F800GS owner who's had an issue there are 10 others with none.

Done and done.

My guess is that the ratio is more like 100:1. But this is the Internets. :rolleyes

Yeah, every bike has it's fair share of problems. Look at the KLR's infamous doohickey. That thing's been known to rip apart engine internals. The fact is this: do a search in Google for any "bike name" and "problems" or "issues" and you'll find just as many issues.

It's you. Mine's perfect.

Here we go again! Let's see how long it takes for this one to go to the basement, aka Jo Momma.

Ja

Why would you post to say that you're bike is working perfectly fine?

My dealer has taken care of every problem/recall/TSB item without a hitch. Every new model has its share of issues, don't think the GS8 is out of the ordinary. Mine worked flawlessly on last month's 9-day adventure tour so you won't find it in CycleTrader anytime soon. :lol3

DockingPilot 10-02-2009 02:10 PM

Flawless, and it has taken some snot.

Yeah, I've got almost 16,000 miles on mine, and rode it the length of the Great Divide Trail (2450 miles) this July. Funny, I don't remember having to do any trail-side repairs, or duck into any dealers for recalls. I did fall down a couple of times, though. Must have been BMW's fault! :bluduh

Or a poll on whether or not you think one should rotate the air in their tires from summer air to winter air!!! Hey, it's important!!!!! You don't want old air in those tires. It upsets the chassis to leave old, worn out air in there like that!!
