Airhead pilot lamp 10 watt halogen part number needed, please
 

As stated above, would someone, please, post the correct part number to replace the stock pilot lamp in a /5 or /6 with a 10 watt HALOGEN bulb.....:confused

I put a 20w halogen in my /6.

It was like this one:

I'd think the 20W would be the smallest you could get away with for a driving light. I've used mine for a couple years now and the cops haven't looked twice. But my light does look a lot dimmer than a comparable headlight side by side.

Check out the 'snowbum' - he's got all the numbers for all the different brands of those halogens. I got mine at NAPA for around ten bucks. Pretty expensive for such a little light. There must be a cheaper way to get these things - If I could find them for three or four bucks I'd get a bunch for the rest of the herd, and spares.

As far as I know, it's the 'BA9' bit which matters: it describes the length and type of bayonet cap on the bulb.

The Snowbum page does give the usual torrent of advice - maybe you can work out which one you prefer from it.

I thought the 20w one I bought above was pretty cheap. Less than $10, anyway!

You're right, the BA9s is what's important. Problem is that it's metric and not common over here. Three and a half to four bucks is more like it!
