Bottom line, I won't be able to ride for a while perhaps a couple of weeks or more. I am in contact with Chris in NH, if there is a way to get me and the bike to the rally in NH we are going to do it. If possible I'll stay with Chris until we figure out a plan to get me and the bike back to Washington. I might fly back home then fly back to NH and ride the bike back at a later date of if I am up to it continue the tour when I am back in the saddle again.

As I receive information I'll pass it along in this ride report, when I have the time this afternoon I'll up date the report with photos of where I have been and who I have stayed with. Thanks for all the well wishes, stay tuned. :D

Well that sucks the big one. Heal fast Mr. Cob.

Sorry for your troubles, Mr Cob, I have been having a great time following this thread. Heal quick :thumb

PS - I bet the rant after you picked yourself up turned the air "Cobbie" blue :D

I'm sorry to hear about the accident, and I'm glad you and the bike got off fairly lightly.

I hope you can still make it to the NH rally - I'm sure everyone would be happy to make a "monkey" out of you, if you feel up to it. You will have at least 20 of us URALogists at your disposal for whatever you need.

DaFoole 07-26-2010 11:39 AM

This sucks!

Heal fast Mr. C. :thumb

We're all gonna have to wait for the finish of the ride....:cry

Tinks 07-26-2010 11:54 AM

Ok. You are tough Mr. Cob so I'm going to give you my advice.

-Pain Meds
-Find a really good friend, enemy or frienemy.
-Hand said friend, enemy or frienemy a hammer.
-Have them break your collar bone better so you need surgery to plate it.
-Have your collar bone plated so your arm/shoulder don't freeze up and so you will have less pain in your overall healing.

Oh hell, heal well either way dear. :D :rogue

Lets try this again...............
Howdy All,

I had the next installment of the ride report all finished, and then before I submitted it, I closed the darn tab that it was being written in, I must be gettin old. :cry Here's goes,

When I last posted to this thread I had just arrived at Terry's shop in Michigan, here Terry is working on the bike changing fluids and setting valves.

Chris noticed that the front blinkers were half full of water, told you folks I rode through some heavy rain.

Chris drains the water from the blinkers.

Terry uses some large fans to cool the engine as he syncs and adjusts the carbs.

The work on the bike completed, Chris fires up the grill and prepares some MEAT for the afternoons gathering of Uralistas who came to meet me and to celebrate Terry's 65 birthday and the 14th birthday of the daughter of one of his customers.

The birthday celibates.

We eat...........

And when folks are busy visiting and lookin at the Ural's, Charlie and I grab some more cake.

I forgot this mans name, here he is sitting on his brand new Patrol.

The party over, folks start to leave.

We took some photos in front of Terry's shop, that Charlie's rig to the right of the Solo bike.

Charlie is the good lookin guy on the right.

Terry is in the middle.

Terry with the Solo.

After the festivities, Charlie and I go back to our motel, later we go out to dinner, Charlie had the prime rib, I had the rib eye.

After dinner we shared some sort of death by chocolate desert, it was wonderful.

This brought the day to a close, BUT not before I drank one of Barry's beers, thanks Barry.

I said my goodbye's to Charlie as I would be leaving early the next morning, this brought my visit to Terry's shop to a close. Thank you Terry for all the work you did on the bike, thanks for puttin me up in a very nice motel, I really appreciate it.

Folks if you live in the upper Midwest and are thinking of buying a Ural, please give Terry a call, he "IS" a great dealer and will treat you right before and AFTER the sale. here is Terry's contact information.

Crawford Sales Company
10138 Colonial Industrial Dr., South Lyon, MI 48178
Phone: (248) 437-8107
Fax: (248) 437-3950

That brings this segment of the ride report to a close, stay tuned for further news and information.:D
