Maier Rear Splash Gaurd anyone??

It seems another company has come out with a rear mud guard that is much more affordable than the mudsling. Nothing against the folks at mudsling but regardless of the R&D I just couldn't stomach the price. Anyone have one? if so what are your impressions? Maier rear splash guard Also sold as an Ilium Works but they look identical.

I've got a Maier on my 798. Fit well and was easy to install. Obviously functional.

Does anyone have the Maier splash guard mounted with BMW Vario luggage rack? Any installation conflicts?

I have it, works great, no conflicts!

It comes within a 1/4 inch of the rack but doesn't touch it, didn't even notice it when installing. I can take closer photos if you want since my bike is parked at the moment with 1 inch of ice and 4 inches of snow outside!!!!!

Awesome, thanks! Headed to order a couple of them. Don't worry about any more pic's, I like this one. It shows how well it blocks dirt/mud from the rear shock.

Yeah, when it is right out of the box it may not look like the best thermo-formed piece of plastic you've ever seen but once it is on the bike and dirty it looks stock and does a great job :clap

i lowered my 800GS slightly(15-20mm), and it is quite clear to me that the Maier Rear Splash Guard comes into contact with the inner U joint of the swingarm...

Whenever i go over bumps/humps, there'll be a creeking, rubbing sound coming from the contact points at the left side of the splash guard hitting the inner part of the swing arm.

I should post some pictures. I bought the Carbon Fibre ones.
The friction has removed about close to 5cm of the CF film paint.

=(... the sound is getting a little irritating... i might have to trim the edges...??

My Maier install was done before I could even finish my beer:clap

I got one too, nice fit. The holes are predrilled and you have to use some zipties to band it to the frame but it's fine. I didn't want one that hugged the rear wheel either.
