Headed to San Mateo on Saturday.

Look for the hack.

Hi Joel, I'll be there Saturday, Long Beach with my son. What day are you planning on going?

Regarding San Mateo, I didn't see KTM, Husky, Triumph, or BMW on the floor plan. I did see "NorCal BMW Dealers" as an exhibitor, but didn't see any floor space. Looks like all bikes fit in one room now. Has this show shrunk? Lack of sponsorship? I may skip it this year.

I remember demo riding a ktm 950 SM a few years back at the show. We took hwy 92 up and over to the 280 and back again. Dang--that experience stayed with me, and I still lust for a ktm 950SE. Maybe a 690, 530, or 450 would float my boat--but I'll never know. It's a shame bike manufacturers aren't making much money these days. Today I can see more manufacturers in SF at BMW, Scuderia, Munroe, SF Moto, and GG Cycles--all within 2 miles of each other.

If the tx show was anything to go by, this year kinda sucks.

no "models" worth mentioning in either the motor or human powered variety :lol3 (we had the lesser progressive girls at the tx show :hide)

The new yamaha was there of course and was nice to see, but after that it was pretty much same old stuff and was much smaller than previous years.

AceRph 11-16-2010 02:20 PM

Maybe I'll skip it.

AngryScot 11-16-2010 02:28 PM

will have some pics up tomorrow, even the vendors were fewer than past years.
My bet is the convention center still charges them like nothing has happened to the economy and they just cannot afford it :dunno

Lots of custom stuff and local club items in the tx show. But the dealer parts were a bit sad.

there was the one chick that modeled for me in front of Bob's new to him enfield.

pure sexy!

Some people found the Long Beach show to be disappointing last year but I still had fun. KTM, Husky, Triumph, etc were not on the list but some of the local dealers brought some in anyway. Last year Suzuki forgot to bring the dual sports and Vstroms, but the jap dual sports really don't change much year to year anyway.

It's a good place also to look at gear and accessories. It's nice to see the stuff in person before ordering it. Most of the major brands were there last year, but a lot of the barely motorcycle related vendors selling crap were gone.

There is always some vintage bikes on display. They seem to have different models every year:

I wouldn't miss an epic ride for it, but it beats staying home and watching Sportbike stunt wannabes crash on Youtube.

Oh yea, I can't wait to see if Honda reuses the yellow-fluorescent-vomit colored carpet for the third year in a row.
Whoever picked out that carpet must be colorblind. It makes their bikes look terrible and the people standing on it look sick.

Holly and I are planning to go on Sunday, but our forecast calls for snow showers in the morning. :vardy :bluduh We might just take the car down for the fun of it.

Did the Texas show have a Yamaha Tenere? I am thinking about going on Sunday just to give the Yamaha reps a hard time. Ben
