Destination Phuket...
Managed to get about 6 days off ,so me and the mrs decided to holiday in Phuket. instead of my wife flying there while i rode the mrs wanted to ride up with me to see all the places i usually visit on the way.
I recently got new tyres i.e the BT023 GT . And i must say it was a world of difference riding the bike. :D

Also some thoughts on the FJR. 2 up and fully laden , freeways , B roads , Twisties , crosswinds and idiot cagers were handled with ease . The givi top box with back rest made a comfortable ride for my wife also.

It took me 2 days to upload my photos to blogspot so i'll post a few teasers here before i break this computer in frustation at the ultra speedy broadband that i've got :baldy

You can view the full write up at my siggy below.

Fully laden and ready to roll.

Nice statue at the Songkla hotel.

The ubercool Naga

View of some of phuket's beaches

Guess whats this called ..... wait for it..........wait for it ........ Big Buddha :rofl

Tried out a new ride :D

Everytime i look at this pic i feel like getting on the bike and not coming back :cry

Lovely eh ?

Amazing carvings

Sunset over Phuket Island viewed from our boat.

Amazing and empty Thai roads

Sights of Hat Yai

Cool huh :evil

Village in Southern Thailand

Overall a great ride and Phuket is really booming 7 years after the tsunami.

p.s - mods , if you feel this should be in day trips by all means please move it.Thanks.

Cool pics, definitely more than a day trip.
Though on that comfy looking FJR it might have seemed like only a day.
