Lisa's wr250 mods
I bought my wr250x last spring. The first thing we needed to do is to lower the bike as I am only 5'2". We were able to take 5 inches off all together. Sent the forks and Spring to Go Race Suspension- they were able to get 2 inches off for me; 2 inches out of the seat, and 1 more inch with the Yama links- didn't get a lot of pics of the process on that, but here is what I have:

Next was dual sport wheels from Wheeling supply:

Jerry then modified my kickstand so it would adjust up and down to work with either set of wheels:

Then new bags from happy trails:

and I was ready to ride:

Pretty darn cool Lisa. Looks like your bike still has more ground clearance than the Strom. :thumb

Very cool setup :clap

Thanks Beez & Bike Pilot!

This weekends project- installing my new Highway dirtbike bars/guards/mirrors:

old bars & mirrors:

new parts to go on:

All naked with bars off:

new vs. old risers:

new bars & risers on:

the almost finished product- (just need to trim the throttle tube a bit because the throttle is sticking against the end of the new guard which did not quite install flat)
the new mirrors fold in behind the guards when off road!

Next project- new IMS 3.1 gallon tank- just waiting for delivery! That extra gallon will make a huge difference!

Thanks everybody!

Hi Lance:wave How's the riding in Florida? Hoping to the driveway will de-ice soon, and maybe a bit warmer weather so we can get out on the bikes soon.

I found one more pic while answering a PM about the racks- this is after I did my first tire change all by myself (husband supervised and provided occasional third hand). I wanted something more aggressive after the bike did a flying nap in some muddy ruts- the Shinkos were just caked in the stuff, absolutely no grip, even for a few minutes after we got out of the mud. Changed to Dunlop 606's.

ims 3.1 gallon tank installed

new tank waiting to go on:

old tank off:

fuel connector and electrical connector for the fuel pump:

fuel pump ready to go into the new tank:

tank back on:

Took the bike out for a test ride yesterday- going uphill or anything over half throttle sputtered, lost power and seemed to be starving for fuel.
Tore it back down today and found this:

seems to be fixed now, and throttles nicely in the shop, but may be a bit before another ride 'cause it is snowing again...... also the low fuel light is not coming on, but I think as long as the bike is running ok, that should not be a huge issue hopefully.....

Glad that was a simple fix. Enjoy that bike!

What did you do to reinforce the tail section so it'll take those bags?

just bolted the happy trails rack on- so far they seem to be doing the trick.
