Getting shocks rebuilt
 
I found some period shocks for my RD400, they need to be rebuilt, they are Mulhullands made by Bog shocks, I found a place that used to do vintage shocks, but I am not sure they are in buisness, any body know of a place.

I saw a deal on some Ohlins, but they are spendy :eek1

I just ran into a roadblock trying to rebuild some Boge mulhollands....I found some seals for them but while unscrewing the seal heads the heads cracked....(god damn pot metal...) so now my project is on hold until i find some new seal heads...probly gonna be a tough search...

Im also in the process of rebuilding some betors and Konis...more tough part searching...

koni's are easy - the main seal never goes bad (it's huge..) by far the easiest show to rebuild are the vintage works performance. nothing to them, and a beautiful simple design inside... the ohlins remotes are also not too dififcult, there's just a ton of parts....

Bought an old Works shock from an e-bay seller for an RZ 350. Took it apart, polished the body, painted the spring, and sent the parts to Works in Cali.
Wanted to do it once, so new braided line, bump stop and the whole 9 was done. Wanted period correct, so Penske's and what not were out of the question.
Before it was mounted on my project, an o-ring for the rebound damper started leaking out the oil. Called them and explained, sent it back on my dime, and it was sent back to me on their dime with a new second rebuild @N/C.
Great people to work with. Positive customer service. Expensive, but worth it to me for what I wanted.

so now the secret is out, on rebuilding works shocks
what I did. needed a new shock for my bmw mono. Bought a used "works" on e-bay, sent it to works to have rebuilt, ended up with nearly new shock for half price of new works shock.
total for rebuild was $95 and bought a new ride adjust w rench for 13 and with shipping was into it for less than 125 and only paid 130 for the shock so for ended at 255 ( new for my bikie is 535)

Yeah rebuilding is the way, a new Ohlins is spendy, and so are the Works, I will one day get some Ohlin's just when my money is there for them

That linky is for a calender :huh, if you are refering to the Chinese junk shocks, I will never buy chinese crap unless needed :puke1, they make junk :puke1

I was referring to the RAM Mono Shox for the BMW lads, and the RAM Classic Twinshox for the older bikes.
NOT made in China, made in the UK, and fully rebuildable.:clap
