1970 Yamaha HS1 coil troubles
 

Hey everyone...

Been messing around with a 1971 Yamaha HS1 that was picked up from a friend. Been a while since a rode a street legal 2 stroke. Definitely gets looks as you buzz by.

I believe one of the coils is starting to go. Problem is I don't know where to get a replacement or what the stock resistance is.

Any suggestions

Ah yes, the little HS-1 90. I bought this little gem at a garage sale for $50.00 a few years back. Little feller was a hoot to ride...don't know much about them as this one always ran flawlessly.....I did throw a new set of rings in her and then she really flew....well sort of....:lol3

That is a great find. She does fly when running right. I would say its gone 55-57 mph.
