Engine Tool
Anyone have the special tool to remove used when removing the balancer shaft sprocket from 2005+ engines that I could borrow?
It's part number 60029050000 "Bottom Part Pretensioning Tool" |
If you use a right sized drill bit, you can get around the having to use the tool. The bit must fit snug with as little play as possible. The gear is still a bit of a bitch to get out without it coming apart. But, not impossible.
Maybe some else has other "Mcgyver's" on hand if you don't come right. |
Drill bit or machined shaft to fit the hole to lock out the lash take up works as Kamanya states. One thing to keep in mind here is it is MUCH easier to put the lock pin in place while the gear set is mounted to the shaft than after the fact... Major PITA to reload the spring and then lock it out with the pin.
