Help me ID this gas tank

I'm selling some car stuff for a guy and he had this tank lying around. It's in really good shape other than the welds on the front. The seam on top tells me that it's probably from a 60's bike, but other than that I have no clue.

My guess is that it's from a Triumph.

Looks like one of the non-OIF tanks for a 60s triumph.

Correct. It is for a pre-'71 Triumph 650. Probably a Bonneville.

yep! it's a US Spec Pre oil in frame Triumph tank - Mid Sixties. Nice find.

If there's purple paint on the top half and either white or gold on the bottom under that orange crap, it's a 1967 Bonneville tank. There should be two screw holes on each side for badges. Nice original tanks are worth a fair amount.

You can definitely make out the purple on top and gold on bottom on that tank.

It's a 67 bonnie, as stated above.

That means it's an early '67. The gold didn't go over well in the US, so it was changed to white. The gold was actually the undercoat for the candy purple top half. My '67 is a later white one.
