I mean am I the only who sees the irnony of Polaris building HD clone engines (we all know the Power Plus is just a HD Evo clone with rounder cylnders) to put in their Indians?

The first of the Polaris Indians will be warmed over CMC Indians, which means S&S clone engines and other HD aftermarket catalog parts...

"We believe Indian's best history is yet to come" ......yeah right. At least with polaris backing it Mike Wolfe's check should clear.

I don't have anything against the Victory's or Polaris.....or even bringing back Indian. I just wish it could be done in an interesting fashion and still be financially viable so they last more than 3 years. Perhaps a longitudinally(sp) mounted 4cyl....

Nope doesn't sound like a Harley sounds like a Victory. Nothing wrong with a Victory and it will be interesting to see what the actual bike looks like.

Indian is dead, why can't they let it rest in peace? I can't see Polaris building Harley clone motors, since they have a v-twin of their own, but even if they use that engine, it is a Victory engine, NOT an Indian engine. If they plan to sell the "new" (again) Indian for twice the price of a Victory, there had better be something there to justify that price besides swoopy fenders. Unless they dump it quick, Indian will bring Polaris and Victory down with it. And just what is with that ridiculous price? Real Indians were not showpieces back when they were new, and they did not cost a fortune. Triumph succeeded because they built and sold quality bikes at competitive prices. If there is any hope of bringing back the Indian name (and I doubt there is), it will need to be with competitively priced motorcycles, that are priced similar to all other big v-twins. So far Kawasaki has built the best "new" Indians so far, with their reasonably priced Drifter bikes. And apparently they were not a sales success, seeing as how they are no longer here.

If only John Britten had lived , Indian might have benifitted from his vision. He was acually working on a prototype for some iteration of the Indian company before cancer took him.
If, he'd lived the Indian name might be spoken with awe instead of disapointment.

For once I agree with Jerry, Indian died a long time ago. Let it lay.

And that's coming from a Victory owner.
