need 1100GS part recommendations

Getting $$ from Santa and need some part recommendations for my 96 1100GS so I can go shopping :evil

I'm still running on the OEM brake lines and want to replace them - suggestions? Where's the best / cheapest place to purchase?

And I need some hand guards. More for wind protection than impact protection. Bark busters? I've heard 1150 guards will fit - how are they for blocking wind?

Thanks all!
Jim

I replaced my brake lines with Spieglers this year and am very happy with the performance and quality. You can custom order with the color you want as well.

I also put the 1150 hand guard on my 1100. Good wind protection and they fit with no issues.

Tom Cutter at the Rubber Chicken Racing Garage is a Spiegler dealer and a long-time BMW mech.

I put Speigler's on my 1100 GS last summer. Nice improvement and necessary at the age of the originals. I also have the 1150 handguards. If you're looking to dave a few buscks, I have the original 100 handgards sitting on a shelf that I woulds let go cheap. THey block the wind as well as the 1150 set.

I fitted Stahlflex brake hoses very soon after buying my 1100. They are a very good fit and the top hose being slightly longer than stock to help reduce stress, the stock hose having a tight spot on full lock. Some even split here.
The seat is another item i would like to change, i borrowed a friends Sargent seat for a trip last year and what a difference.

These folks know your brakes. Prices are very good.

Galfer brake line kit for my 1100 - special ordered for me by the local Cyclegear. Good quality, coated hose, with all stainless fittings, including new banjo bolts. I don't suppose you'd go wrong with any established manufacturer.

I put 1150 bark busters on my 1100. They fit just fine but I needed to buy a small adapter for the Throttlemeister. Can't say I've noticed much difference in weather protection for my hands. I did have a problem when the R/H guard got twisted around and was touching the end of the brake lever, causing the brake to stay on very lightly. 100 miles of high speed riding in the rain precipitated a binding problem that took a full caliper rebuild and brake hose replacement to cure.
