Show us your luggage setup!

Thought i would start a thread where people can share their setup and maybe share a bit about why it serves them well?

Seeing as the BMW luggage is so expensive i was thinking of getting the Top Box alone
http://i45.tinypic.com/sfi843.jpg
then getting the Wolfman Expedition as saddle bags with their $18 mod to fit to any luggage rack
http://i46.tinypic.com/2nghlcw.jpg

Pros-
Aesthetics
Weight
Durable
Price ($250 for both bags + $18 for links)

Cons-
Practicality (unlike opening a box with theirs you have to pack things in)

Total Cost

$800

Had system cases on my '04 and didn't care for them. Sold them and found a really good deal on a set of Touratech Zegas. The racks were from a klr so I had to remake them for the GS. Pretty close to a break even deal. Then my dad gave me an old Pelican box that had cracked from having something too big in it for decades. Pelican replaced it with a new one so I built a rack and mounted it as a top box.
BTW, I know the Kolpin gas can is overkill, but it was already mounted on the Zegas when I got the so why not?http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...B9893F0B6B.jpg

Why not??? Left hand turns come to mind. I'm not an off road guy, but there are some forest roads with some traverses that have water crossings that just might catch it as well. IMO, the can needs to get higher.

you may want to add some straps

Based on previous experience, you should add a way to strap or secure your stuff inside the top case. The case as a whole is pretty sturdy, although the walls are thin and dent really easily. I went on one off road day ride and my tool bag inside put little dings all over the place.

I ran some 1" x 0.125" AL flat bar stock between 2 pairs of mounting bolts inside the box, raised off the bottom by a few washers. This allowed me to run some elastic tie-down straps around my bag. Highly recommended.

The top case is what i always run with. When I need more, I strap my BMW dry duffel over the passenger seat, along with chairs/tents, etc. I don't like having side panniers, i feel like I would catch them on all sorts of crap.

What crash bars/head covers are those? Have a better pic of just them?

They look nice anc compact vs the big old ones I have.
