01 CR250 cylinder on a 97 CR?
Just wondering if I can put a cylinder from an 01 CR 250 on my 97 CR 250? I am thinking it will be no problem but just wanted to ask those in the know. Thanks

I did a quick bike bandit check and they have different part numbers, but that is not to say that they wont work as I believe they are able to be bolted on.
Here is a great link that talks about the subject specific to the 1997. To paraphrase the link it says...92-01 will bolt on but I would check piston differences. I hope this helps. Thanks
Thanks for the link, I know that the porting is different, i will have to look into the pistons

The 01 cylinder will work fine on a 97.
They use the same gaskets & piston kit even. Some like the 01 porting better than the massive hit of the 97's |
Thats the plan
Just looking to smooth out the power for a better woods bike

Flywheel weights will help with smoothing the power out also. I used them on my YZ125 and it made the power come on much more smoothly.

+1 on the flywheel weight -I have one on my ol CR500,anyways,I like the "all things moto" website for 2 stroke tech stuff- check it out -lots about CR250s...
