Globetrottin racks and bags
Anyone out there have Globetrottin racks and bags on a 950SE? Have you had any subframe issues? I need a set of hard bags and these seem like they could be the ones...

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind before I make my decision.

Check out our Jesse build if this interests you.
Subframes are an issue and I suspect we won't be immune either but 90 % of the weight is carried low by a new structural subframe. Any queries let us know. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=855615 |
Thanks! Now that looks like the solution I've been after. I've always liked the Jesse bags, but because of their weight and the SE's lack of strength, I had ruled them out. Time to give them a call.

Isnt what you put in them,, about as important as what the bag weighs? :rofl

In our case two we need them, one up I would look at smaller cases although having the weighty low and centered is still superior to up high and back. |
globetrottin racks
I don't own an adventure but I've ridden a couple 990s with them seen and inspected the racks and they are killer. The hardbags are fiberglass so they are repairable if wrecked, super light, and more aero dynamic than your standard aluminum hard box. The mounting system is also super smart, on and off very quickly and lockable. And good looking for course. The soft bags are also really good. I've had Happy Trails and BMW panniers on bikes and friends bikes and the globetrottin is the best I've seen, personally... They also appear to be super durable as far as I can tell. The one I have on my 450 is super durable, not a scratch on the bike but many on the rack...

Just got an email from Jesse Luggage and they don't have any plans to do a production run for the SE set-up the "Two Kiwi's" are using. Shame. Looks like I may end up going with Globtrottin Bags after all. Of course the SE racks are on back order right now and it is still winter, so no rush just yet.

I think I would get Jims rack and the new giant loop saddle bags thats come out next month. they look very good.

Sorry, not a big fan of the giant loop. Soft bags ARE the way to go in an off road situation though, but I'm looking a set-up I can lockup when I'm in the city or on a pavement trip.
