A Rally Raid is a creature of our own design and definition. Simply put, it is a way of dual-sport riding. Highly enjoyable to a limited set of riders. It's kinda like if big bore dual-sport and sport-biking had a red-headed bastard child.

It is not serious enduro riding and there is no knee-dragging. In fact, if you ever see me drag a knee, just wait. My ass will soon be following. But it is what it is. We ain't gonna change.

This thread will not be political or deal with the socio-economics driving Mexico's problems. It will not try to preach, cajole, harangue, or persuade others to go. But if, after you do your own due diligence, Mexico is within your personal risk parameters .......then welcome. If not, well....there's some purty pictures to see but please try not to piss in my cheerios.

Oh, yeah. I am a Luddite so I will have to type a post from my ancient laptop then edit in the photos from my phone using tapatalk. It may be slow going.

Day One- Pharr Bridge to El Naranjo by way of Cd. Victoria, Mex 101, Jaumave dirt down the west side of the Biosfera Reserva El Cielo, and Ocampo.

From Jaumave we turned south on an easy class 1 dirt road with a few class 2 sections. Really pretty cattle country.

schizz spots a nude Salma Hayek on yonder mountain. We find out later he was just hallucinating from fever and chills.

We left him in El Naranjo with two bottle of water and a head full of Salma's boobs. We figured if he was gonna die, might as well let him die happy.

Oh, yeah. 101 southwest of Cd. Vic is sweet. schizz moved up front to play with Aaron. His comment before the trip "maybe I will have a little sumpin' for the nephews". After a stretch on 101 he reported that he was scratching pretty dang good and looked up to see Aaron ahead of him .....standing on his pegs. lol

Oh, well. He does it to all of us, JD. You'll always have Salma.

Bella Vista was the hotel's name, the restaruant was the D'picon.
