Hamish' 2013 F800 48mm WPs

Been doing some farkling. Quick bit of history. I had a 2009 that was pretty well kitted, including heavier springs and oil in the front end.
Was happy with it, but it did let me down in the rough stuff.

Bought a 2013, and shifted most of my farkles over. For the front end, I got some advice...and some parts from Lukas. It now looks like this:

http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps5e01ed2b.jpg

Parts/Mods so far as follows:
  • Custom 48mm WP forks, fully adjustable....PLUSH AS! (Lukas)
  • Modified KTM triples (Lukas)
  • Single MotoMaster 320mm Disk and 4 pot calipre on the front (adaptoer from Lukas)
  • 19 and 21" front wheels, billet hubs (orange for road in a nod to ktm front end, black for offroad), excel rims
  • HDB risers, clamps, hand guards, mirrors, and under bar mount for Scotts Damper
  • Carmichael bend Protaper Bars
  • Brittania Composites Mirage fairing
  • HID head lights
  • Zumo 350 GPS in Touratach lockable mount
  • Fuzeblock to manage the accessories
  • Power Commander V and auto tune
  • Remus hexacone and catless headers
  • BDCW bashplate
  • Jesse Panniers
  • 17" rear billet hub in orange with cush drive (RAD Mfg)
  • Pivot Pegz Mk3
  • Touratech foldable gear and break levers
  • Mud sling
  • SW-Motech power ring and tank bag
Running Pirelli Scorpions on road at the moment, but will change to Road Attack 2s when they wear out....and TKC 80 front Heidenau K60 rear off road.

I think I am done....actually, not quite. Need to find a way to make my Adv Spec crashbars fit with the remus headers.

BIG THANKS TO LUKAS!

Sweet rig man, looks badass!

..........................................Wow

Is it any sacrifice losing the other brake rotor? I love the black forks. How much did all that cost for the forks and triple?

Blackalac 03-04-2013 06:02 PM

I don't mean to be rude but with all the fork changes why not purchase a Ktm?

Deuce 03-04-2013 06:10 PM

:stupid Nice bikes and mods but I agree with Blackalac.

....

.......gee...if I did that, imagine how many BMW parts I would need to purchase to make this bike ;)

I love my BMW...I love the people I ride with in local bmw clubs....whilst I accept this is a little more work and a little more expense than changing the cartridge inserts....it isn't that much...and the difference in performance is profound!

It is all reversible with about half a days work.

did you get a steering stop? :ear

that's the spirit.
Always these KTM or KLR guys -- why are they on our threads and try to "reason" with us ... :-)

Very nice work.

I still need to get the suspension setup done. Now if I only can convince this guy in Germany to sell me parts ....

The triples actually hit on the headset (near the ignition) at about the same position as the stops would have.
You can see in the second picture where the top clamps are. They hit on the head set just near where the "5pt" Torx security bolt is.

Having said that, Lukas apparently has a cunning plan which he hasnt filled me in on yet.
