What happened to superduke.net?

Hi,
The superduke.net site has been down the last few days. Does anyone know if they are just down temporarily or if there's more to it?

Does a website ever go out of business? They'll be back up...

Is this a serious question?

The betatalk website has been awol now for a long time, may never resurface. Costs time/$$$ to maintain a forum site (software) plus the colo fees.

Yes, a website is not hosted in the air. Websites cost money and the more traffic they get the higher the cost.

I guess that shows my level of knowledge of the mysterious intranets. :lol3
Doesn't it all just come out of the sky like magic?

Don't panic, I know going cold turkey isn't easy lol.

The owner is on the case or should I say his web guy is. It's actually live and some people can access it, Angelo (owner) said he was in for 30 mins earlier. We are still getting account requests so its accessible in some areas and not in others. That is a DNS issue. Hopefully it will be sorted soon guys. We are doing what we can.

There are all 3 of his sites on the IP (which I can't find link for right now) He has a deal with hosting company. I offered for us to take over the financial side of site but he is very happy to keep paying, very proud its still going so strong. Its the DNS that aren't pointing www.superduke.net to the correct place. (I'm just passing on what I've been told) Don't worry the site is safe, Brokenlegbiker logged in with my identity yesterday (he's in Bahamas lucky git and had no problems accessing it) and made a backup of the forum so we'd still have everything. It will be back soon don't worry.

It's alive ? ?

Thanks for the update. Thought it was on my end at first. It's too good of a site to die on the vine. Glad to hear it's still....out there.:clap:clap

From DougFir over in SD land.

desertkev 03-15-2013 09:41 PM

Yes it is killing me! You don't know how much you like something till its gone. The strange thing is that it happened right after I posted my 625 SMC for sale on SD.net, at first I thought I was locked out by an admin...
I look forward to it being back up.
Soarsore over there.

Katoom72 03-15-2013 09:49 PM

I used to be on that site allot a few years go. It's like the ADV rider of Superdukes, loads of info!

SPEIRMOOR 03-15-2013 10:16 PM

Thanks for posting this.I posted on another KTM(Something).com about the site being down and I guess the administrator didnt like it for some reason and killed my thread. Glad to see ADV is more sympathetic. Hope its up and running soon.

evilwerkz 03-15-2013 11:04 PM

yup, canīt acces it from mexico, supermotojunkies site is also inaccesible from here

Dang, just when I was about to post my $3 dollar solution to bypassing the side stand switch and horizontal tilt switch :D

ADVNerd 03-20-2013 08:07 AM

And down it remains ... Any DNS issue should have been sorted in <48 hours.

Does anyone need me to contact MediaTemple (in LA)?

evilwerkz - bypassing the sidestand switch is one thing, but I'd the rollover/tipover sensor functioning. You really want the engine, and perhaps more importantly the fuel pump to stop if you go down.

Just sayin'.

The absence of superduke.net in my life is resulting in some fairly serious withdrawl symptoms. For the love of God please bring superduke.net back into my life. The thought of living without it is too much for me to bear!
