Round the World on a Triumph Tiger (N America complete - next stop Australia!)
Dear ADVriders,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Well I finally managed to get off my fat ass and start my lifelong dream Round The World ride on my 2012 Triumph Tiger 800 XC.
Somehow I managed to ride 10,000 miles across the States, and my bike is presently being shipped to Australia to continue. I plan to island hop Indonesia, up into SE Asia & India, and somehow get it back to the UK from there (planning isn't my strongest attribute!).
The bike is going great and I've had some help along the way from ADVriders, but only just got around to sorting out a (post-dated) proper blog (too busy with the N American roadtrip diet of beer & burgers).
Here's my trip so far:<o:p></o:p>
G'day Chris. Looks like you are planning a great trip. If you are passing through Perth, maybe some of us can catch up with you. Keep us posted.:D
This link might interest you.
Thanks guys! I'll definitely be passing through Perth mid-May so will give you a bell :)
And thanks for the link - looks great!
Hey mate ... RTW? You've skipped Latin America and picked Vegas instead?
Safe going. :clap
Ha! I knew I'd get lots of stick for missing Central & South America (and I have). However, my reasoning:
1. I need something to look forward to after I've completed this RTW trip, and Alaska to Tierra del Fuego will be my next adventure.
2. I can't speak Spanish and waiting a year or 2 will give me time to learn and make the most out of the experience.
3. I've taken sooooo long in N America, I'll be lucky to make it round with enough money left for the ferry back to the UK (I hear we have a tunnel now?! Ha ha)
4. Vegas is bl**dy good!
You're right about blogs, of course; I'll try and work out how to post some picts on here...
