What does a new F800GS cost?

Are these selling for full list price or are people able to negotiate a bit?

I ask because I've never bought a new bike, I've been riding an R100/7 since 1987. but those F800GS's look like a tremendous ammount of fun,

I live in Southern California, just North of Mexico. I'm thinking that riding an F800GS in Baja would be a blast,

Serveral threads out there talking about negotiation (I can't help it Reaver :lol3), short answere is YES you can.

Yes you can negotiate the MSRP down a little but it ain't like buying a car. Consider yourself very lucky to get $500 off. Most dealers do offer pretty generous discounts on accessories bought with the bike. 20-30% off is easy to get. GH

thx that is the information I'm looking for,

^ This. Plus there are a couple of rebate programs (military, EMS, etc) that may allow you some $ off even if its a little. They won't let you combine them though:deal

Yeah but you're right this time. I've already had my say on this not long ago.

Don't change on my account. :1drink

Don't expect much, a few hundred dollars at most. I shopped 4 different dealers against each other when I bought mine, and they all pretty much bottomed out around the same place, give or take a few.

If you need accessories though, that's the time to hit them. I just don't think they have the margins in the bikes to do much, but they have a hell of a mark up on the bling.

that is something else I need to know thx

New 2013

Pretty much paid retail for a new 2013 F800, but I got Heidenau tire swap and stock seat reworked to my liking. Also big discount on BMW skid plate and other misc. bling.

Mine would end up costing 16K USD, since i live in the Middle East and everyone here tries to sodomize anything. But as I have read across the forum a few hundred is the most people get. Good luck.

I think there is also one for having completed Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Class....

If you're Fire/LEO there's a $250 factory rebate. I took advantage of that.

Probably best to go for MSRP instead of haggling on that, but ask about getting the first/second service.

First one, the 600 miles is mainly oil change, but if there's any ECU updates or things needing tightening, the dealer will hopefully find it. Pretty much the same with the 6000 mile one except that a valve check may be in order. The 12000 is your first major one that'll run a few hundred bucks if you have the dealer do it.

Most of it? Labor, not the parts.

Look for my thread I posted the same question.
Was originally quoted $15k out the door. Shipped around found one for $14,200 out the door but not the right color. Called the first guy back on a Rainey day and told him I would buy today for $14k. Sold. That is $1k saved. Call around. I was fortunate. 4 dealers within 3 hours of me in north Atlanta.
