17-35-Great 1-Half Moon Bay-92-35-Alices-Home

Alright fellas (and even gals) i plan on taking a day trip around the bay via this way.. or another either theiton August 3rd or somewhere around that timee!I haven't done bear creek road all the way yet and last time i did highway 35 from half moon bay, it was foggy and misty... it was cool, just not very scenic.

So I am thinking about leaving somewhere in San Jose getting coffee or something. Eating some place in Half Moon Bay, then head to Alice's for coffee or whatever. and then heading home to Fremont. Any takers??

Here's what it would look like...

I personally live in Fremont so I will be leaving from there but the route itself starts in San Jose so if anyone is North of Fremont and wants to join, we can always meet together in Fremont and then ride together to San Jose.

So who's down?!:evil:deal

you're missing out...

...on a lot of good back roads in that area. If you're interested in "easy" roads your route looks great. If you want any suggestions for back roads (Bonny Doon, Alpine, Jameson Creek, etc) let me know.

Looks fun!

Suggestions are more than welcome! I'd love more routes!

here's an old favorite of mine

Page Mill coming off of 280 gets tight-watch for bikes.

Alpine is tight, off camber, and a blast uphill (from the coast to Skyline).

Sorry for the fine print on the screen capture...

I work for a hotel so weekends are a bit hard to get off. But if I can get it off I am in. I live in Sonoma so I might add a bit on to the ride beforehand or after to make the ride a bit longer. But I am up for just about anything.

It looks like you're planning on 92 which I would avoid like the plague especially on the weekends. Instead, look at Tunitas Creek to Lobitos Creek to Higgins Purissima Rd... something like this. Once you get to Hwy 1, turn left and have lunch at Cameron's (on your right maybe a quarter mile).

From there, take 1 to Stage to Pescadero to Alpine to Page Mill... like this. Page Mill will take you to 280 and you can head for 84 back to Fremont. :norton
