What used bike to buy for Hare scrambles?

Ive been riding dirt and street for 25 years, and have a 2002 RM 250 two stroke for play, but I want to start doing harescrambles etc...What bikes are everyone using?? Do I need to buy a duel sport because I will be crossing roads? Thanks for the help

Noob, noob, noob, we were all noobs once so.... Wow. OK so I'll try and break it to ya lightly.

Google is if your Friend. Do some BASIC research online & you will find all the answeres and more to you questions about what a Hare Scramble vs Enduro.

And BTW. As long as your RM will run hard for a hour and a half its perfect to enter your first hare scramble. :D.

Now Google your area for some riding clubs or r join the AMA yes you can Google their Addy to find some events in your neck of the woods.

Nothing wrong with your current bike. No tags needed for our HS down here. Go to a local race and see what everyone else is using.

A 2002 RM 250 would be a good one.

yep and you'll find someone who wants to sell their already set up bike. Ot they'll find you if you put the word out or put a sign by your truck.

Having done it twice, I highly doubt I will ever turn a stock bike into a race bike again. Even if you have to rebuild the engine, you're better off buying one with all the extras on it already and going from there .
