Wish I could make this. Beautiful area. CTR is a great group who helped us with a ride plan back in '09. Our group of 5 from the San Diego area had a great time with their assistance.

I'm sure they have some outstanding loops planned out.

Oh hell yes.

I'm in.

I cross posted this event to the AARG site to get some more exposure.

Any good campgrounds nearby? I saw a KOA not too far from the Elks Lodge.

I'm interested but have not found any info on the type of roads/trails and difficulty levels. IF I go, I would like to know what bike to ride, my GSA or WR250, or DR350 (if I don't sell it). Obviously, the trail descriptions would help me decide.

More info

Here's some more information. Thanks the the cross post Sonoran. I don't think I met you in my days in the valley. I left there a few years for the higher life. Looking forward to meeting you and hope some others come up for the fun! Nightstalker, 4Play, OldtimerTC, Refokus, et al where are you? There's a route for everyone. Pick your ride for the level. The A routes will definitely be challenging and a smaller/lighter bike would be the choice for that. Some really nice single track. The C route is targeted at the bigger dual sports and shouldn't be a problem for anyone with some fire road kind of experience. I'll get some more info on the routes and post.

Hey Kb,

Long time no see. This sounds right up my alley. If I am not up in Colorado doing the BDR that week I will be there.

Thanks for hosting !!!

Hey Todd! Long time no see/ride. Yep, this will be right in your wheel house. Don't know if you've riden up here much, but there's more then I knew about for sure. The routes are being laid out by some guys that have been riding here a long time. Hope to see you then.

Sounds like a good time and great excuse to get out of the PHX HEAT.

Just signed up. This will be a great time, CTR knows how to put on fun events.

McKay 05-09-2014 09:55 PM

I might try to make this. Will be staying with folks in Prescott if it works.

kbblue 05-12-2014 05:06 PM

Hope you can make it, but just to let you know, Prescott isn't all that close to Flagstaff. About 1.5 hours by slab, a bit longer by one of the many dirt passages available.

Went out last weekend to help with the tracks for this event. Actually, didn't really help, just rode along in support. Had a blast! This is gonna be a great event. A riders will be challenged. B riders will have a lot of fun. C riders will have some great views and cover a lot of really nice fire roads through the pines.

Question

Are the routes being made up for big bikes? Or is the A loop for small bikes? I am thinking of coming up but want to know what they are planning as they are calling it a dual sport event which I would not think is for small bikes doing single track.
