Got the Ural running last night. I think all it needs now is a carb balance. Started to take the head off the KLR, but it might be overly ambitious to think it might be done for Friday.
If we show...

Picture approval gladly given.
I'm hoping I've got something to ride by then. Ural is still twisted up and the KLR isn't behaving at all. Hell, I might just show up to drink beer.

Float level for the win!
The tube on the carb bowl was giving me odd readings, so I undid the bowl screws and emptied the bowl. Then I stood the bike up, holding the bowl in place and turned on...

I still haven't gotten around to working on the bike yet, but the petcock is brand new, I cleaned the tank out before installing the new petcock, it has only had one tank of gas in it. The petcock...

Desperately need a part not on fiches
I ordered a new cam chain, installed it, and it runs again! Better than ever, in fact (although I've only put maybe 200 miles on it). Anyway, it appears that, in my haste to get it running and give...

Spent yesterday kicking a dead bike?!?
After finally getting my little KLR project "done" I decided to ride it to work on Friday. I've been riding it around for a couple of weeks and everything has been fine. Less than stellar gas milage...

Z-Rig Ural extraction question
Rather than load up the trunk of my Ural with a cable-type comealong, I've been thinking about getting the hardware and rope to set up a Z-Rig if I get stuck. My thought is, it'll take up less room...
