These are safe for the lenses and reflectors. Though the leds themselves do not get hot or generate heat from the led itself the circuitry behind the led does get hot and the fans are used to help...

I use a coolant recovery tank form Pep Boys. Already has the nipple on the bottom, is made of fuel proof material and all I do is change the vinyl hose to fuel hose. Cheap and easy.
