Not positive but most lowering kits don't actually reduce the suspension travel but in fact simply place the suspension at a different angle, therefore reducing effective travel of the suspension....

I use a fuzebox kit. Twisted throttle now also makes one, or buys one and labels it theirs adding $10. It will fit under the seat if you have done the airbox mod.

I took my seat to a local guy for him to shave it down so the GF could reach the ground on my bike. Worked like a charm, lowered bike down enough with stock shackle and shaved seat for her 5'4 frame....
