If you have the plates out and they 'mic' to new specs, clean them with some Brake Kleen or electronic cleaner. These two products won't hurt the fibre and will take the varnish off and help clean...

Ascerbis I just bought used the plastic screws on the petcock and the shrouds, same as both of my buddies. Maybe I am confused are we talking aftermarket Ascerbis or OEM stock?

600 ml will put the oil right at the bottom threads of the fill plug. If you can see the oil level in the sight glass you are low.
