Just to dig out an old thread, i also just upped the idle speed to mask the problem. However after a while the idle on mine also became erratic. It turns out the rubber on the inlet manifold starts...

I've tried that, can getting it running no probs when cold, but i need to be able to kick it a few times when hot to clean it out. OUCH MY FOOT HURTS!!!! Obviously i'm not a "real" man ha ha ha!!!
